About Me

Madelene Belinki

No plan, a camera in my hands, and a feeling that I wasn’t meant to stay inside the lines. Five years later, that’s still basically the whole strategy.

I left Sweden wanting to get out of the box: more freedom, more movement, more unplanned turns. It started with an RV through Europe, which eventually led me to Bahrain, where a camera in my hands turned into work with Red Bull and Formula 1.

From there: the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India. A barefoot life in Bali. Arriving in Australia broke and confused, living on a dollar of pasta a day while I hunted for work. Cleaning houseboats on the river, waiting tables and pulling beers, until I found my way into real estate photography in Melbourne.

Then Costa Rica. Then back to Australia, this time to the bush.

Formula 1 to herding sheep. Same camera, completely different world.

That’s what keeps me going: following my life through the lens. One new place, one new face, one frame at a time.
